Swaparoo is free to use, we are in our early days so bare with us, we are constantly introducing new features and improving your experience, please help us to help you! You can contact us using our contact us form and we will come back to you as soon as possible.

Find below some help and support topics that can answer any problem or questions you might have but if you still need support or you think there is something not covered in the following topics please don't hesitate to contact us.

We built Swaparoo as a service targeting local communities ideally meeting face to face so you can see the item and if it is not as described just walk away.

If you don't feel comfortable about a deal then don't go ahead.

Meet always in public places and be accompanied with someone else if you can, if not, let somebody know.

Don't carry large sums of money in public, if the item is expensive, meet in a public place to check the item first and if happy then go ahead with the swap (meeting in a safe place, going to a bank or withdrawing the funds).

If something is too good to be true be wary it often made that way to attract your attention, don't trust it. Remember that if it seems to good to be true, it probably is!

Keep notes of your items identification

We recommend you keep a note of the make, model, serial number/s, of the items you are going to swap or sell.

About mobile phones

Keep note of the IMEI and also we strongly recommend that you request a device history check.

Report fraud (Metropolitan police)

Phishing is a cybercrime in which a target or targets are contacted by email, telephone or text message by someone posing as a legitimate institution to lure individuals into providing sensitive data such as personally identifiable information, banking and credit card details, and passwords.

Never give out any financial information or login details to anyone. Use our chat, and preferably use the site to swap, buy or sell within your local area and meet face to face.

Never send money by Western Union, Ukash, Moneygram or any other wire service

PayPal emails saying money is on the way are fake. PayPal put funds immediately into your account, if the funds are not there, then they have not been sent any money.

We don’t get involved in payments or item delivery between users. So be very wary if someone contacts you pretending to be us. Get in touch with us if you think you are getting targeted by a scam.

User caution and common sense, beware if someone asks for upfront payment or deposit before you meet. If you are getting paid by a secure method make sure the funds are cleared in your account before sending any item.
